Enhancement of Power System Stability using PSS in Wind Farm Distribution Generation

چکیده

This paper is concentrated mainly to the cause and to clear the Power Swings in synchronous generator due to rotor speed oscillations in wind farm which is a distributed generation to maintain the stability of rotor oscillations. The paper presents different conditions of disturbances and faults in specified time period. In Power System Damping Oscillation modes are excited due to disturbance in the grid. In this paper there is a focus to solve the problem of Power swing the power system stabilizer (PSS) which is used to damp out the rotor oscillation modes. This paper also does the analysis about the rotor speed, active power & reactive power during normal and faulty condition with or without using PSS. The proposed stabilizer is evaluated by simulation using PSCAD software. Keywords—Wind mill, Power Swing, Distributed Generation, Oscillation Damping, Power System Stability, PSS, PSCAD.
